Solved Snowflake icon on modem display screen

April 11, 2016 at 14:08:59
Specs: Linux
The Sprint MiFi 500 wireless modem/router has a little icon on its
display screen, beside what seems to be the signal strength indicator.
(I say "seems to be" because it it is just a line of six short underlines,
with the first one thicker than the other five, so I apparently never
get a signal stronger or weaker than one bar. Yet it works fine.)
The little icon looks like a snowflake or a six-handled ship's wheel,
like the Netscape Navigator logo. When the modem powers on,
the snowflake/wheel spins for a few seconds. I haven't seen it spin
at any other time. The icon isn't mentioned in the PDF user's manual.

What is the icon supposed to indicate?

Is it this Jeff?

A few seconds clip look closely:

It appears to be the sprint spark logo telling you it's available to you even if you're not using it.

That icon is similar to the one on my modem, and the function fits.
