Solved Snap Server 1100 image

June 18, 2012 at 10:27:30
Specs: Ubuntu Linux x86_64, 2.8ghz/4gb
I got an old snap server 1100 that the hard drive has died in.

I have read that the company has released the os image to the general public but since this product is old it is hard to find the image any more. All I manage to find is abandon torrent links.
rapidfile had one but it's link is dead too.

I found some info on procooling.com but it too had dead links.

Does anyone know where I can find the image for it and how I can copy it to the drive? It would be greatly appreciated.

Snap is the place to get it.

Dunno why you need to change the OS on it. I'd have thought the image was embedded in a rom but maybe it was on the drive.

Hang up and live.

Snap No longer supports this drive and the image was on the hard drive in this model.

Some of the older models had it embedded on a rom.

A bit of lateral thinking. How about buying this one from eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SNAP-APPL... . You could then image it, restore your current server, and sell one of them on eBay. With a little luck you might even make a profit on the deal.

That may be a way ijack.

I can't believe snap doesn't have an old ftp site that has all the old data on it. Might email them and ask if they have or could send you an image.

Hang up and live.

Can't buy another snap drive don't currently have the funds.

I have found a supposed image and the digital dolly software but now I cannot figure out how to format the drive to accept the image.

All I know from what I read is it is a bootable 25mb hidden xfs partiton. I can't seem to find a way to create this xfs partition onto my new drive with dolly.
