Sluggish after Use

Specs: Windows XP
Hi, my computer seems to get locked up if I leave it running during the day. It's okay in the morning, but when I try to do anything at night the system essentially slows to a halt and is using 100 percent of capacity (while in the morning I'm at 5-10 %). Not sure what's going on. Can you help?

Sounds like you have something running that has a memory leak or you may have a virus. Can you run the following command at a command prompt...

wmic process get description,executablepath > running.txt

then open the running.txt in Notepad or Word and copy the contents in a reply so we can see what is running on your computer?

I'm not that skilled. I just pasted in that command and I'm getting Documents and Settings/Administrator

Well we could assume it is a virus and try to do a virus scan other wise you may need to get someone to look at what is installed on your system; You can download a free scanner from...

I have a very good antivirus program The Shield Deluxe. I'm going to run a scan and see if anything comes up. Thanks!
