Hi and thanks for your quick reply, yes i have just installed a new Bitdefender antivirus plus on my desktop and laptop but this problem has only showed up on the desktop and not on the laptop which is running xp pro . When I installed the Bitdefender i did the same settings on both computers and the laptop is working fine with Skype and uTorrent and I have tried all kinds of fixes like uninstal /reinstal but still no work hope you can help cheers Tony
So, lets test. Plug your computer directly into your modem, bypassing your router. Does it work? If it does, log into your router and make sure that you have UPnP enabled. This will forward the ports correctly for you.
Hi thanks for your reply I am having problems with the port forwarding , I have got the program Simple Port Forwarding Pro but I keep getting errors with it I also followed your suggetion with utorrent and I ran the check under network and it says Port is not open (but you can still download) and there is a yellow tick with a black asterisk on it dont know what that means ? is there any way I can attach a screen shot on the rely? thanks again for your time . regards Tony
Your firewall is blocking the ports or the UPnP from your computer. Disable the windows firewall, disable the Bitdefender firewall or just uninstall Bitdefender all together, for troubleshooting purposes.
HI I think you are right about the port blocking but I have tried everyting that you and others have suggested and still the problem remains I have sent a log to Bitdefender also some screenshots so hopefully they can give me some answers once again thank you very much for your help regards Tony
