shut down after start up

Specs: Windows 7, Asus M4A79XTD EVO Motherboard
I recently created a computer from new egg with my brother and up until the last week it was working perfectly. Now everytime i go to turn it on it immediatly shuts off afterwards. UI NEED help I am fairly new to the world of computers here are my specs can anyone help me? by the way when i turn it on all the lights and fans run including te one on the cpu as well as the power light to the motherboard when the PSU is turned on. what is my problem?

If the CPU is overheating the computer will shut down. You need to open the case and check to see if the fans are turning and the heatsink is properly attached.

Do you hear any beeping before the shutdown? Describe what you do see on the screen before the computer shuts down.

nothing happens on the scree it is literally 3 to 5 seconds after pressing the power button... im fairly sure the heatsink is attached properly. all the fans are turning ... including the cpu fan and the cas fans.. they will rev up then it will turn off..

all of a sudden i turned it onto the internet for the firts time that monday didnt do anything just made sure it worked. but went to turn it on yesterday and whalahh it decided to freak out.

How long ago did you assemble the computer? How long would you say you ran it (in hours/minutes) before this happened?

There is a link in #4 to a review that your PSU failed after only 4 months. I also think the first thing to try is the PSU.

okay i will but would the power light on the motherboard light up if there was a problem with the psu? and how would i go about checking to see if that is the problem try a new psu?

Yes, power lights, fans, etc. can work and the PSU can still be defective.

You need to get an RMA number from newegg before shipping the item. Look at the link below. If you can borrow a PSU of at least 500W to try, I would do that before returning the PSU.
