Solved Setting scroll-lock with bios interrrupts

June 8, 2017 at 02:34:39
Specs: Linux x86_64
I can get shift states for scroll-lock, numlock, capslock, etc with ah=2, int 16h. Are there any interrupts that would set those states rather than just reading them?

There you'll find examples of enabling scroll lock, num lock and caps lock in x86 assembly. I cannot vouch for them, since I haven't tried, and they use routines other than those availbale through BIOS to do the work.
I also did a check on interrupt routines (as I'm sure you already have), and found no mention of setting these states through BIOS interrupts.

Thanks for that. Yes, I did look through the interrupt list, and didn't find any that did the job. I've since amended my program to do things a different way. But I'll take a look at the discussion anyway. It might give me some ideas for another day.
