Server Randomly Keeps Crashing

Ibm Xseries 235 tower server

Specs: Windows server 2003
Hi, Our server in the office keeps crashing but the light stays on in front. We have tried everything minus replacing the motherboard. It is a IBM xseries server with the 2 x xeon 2.8 cpu, and mirror 160gb hot swap hard drives.

The server just randomly keeps crashing every so often. Some times it stays on for 6 hours some times only 6 minutes. When it does crash i have nothing but a light in the front. I have to pull the power cords from the power supply(its a redundant power supply) and wait a few minutes then plug them back in. Once the server boots up it is unknown how long it will stay on. The hardware monitor in the BIOS shows everything is okay.
I first thought it was bad CPU's but after replacing them the same thing occurs. The server is plug into a APC SUA1000 750 watt smartUPS.
Any help would be great.

Start with event viewer logs and see if any dump logs exist.

I'd remove the UPS also and have it tested on a load to see if the self test is causing this.

The event viewer doesnt show any dump logs, the only error is that power has been restored.
As for the UPS it is brand new and test fine runing 123v on a 120 volt system. We upgraded to the 750 ups from the 500 watt.
I am trying to figure out if it maybe a motherboard, a powersupply, or electrical current issues coming into the building, but i dont want to spend money fixing all this for the same price as just buying a new server. The server now is like 5 years old.

Event viewer doesn't show dump logs. See ms site on how to read dump logs.

The USP should support 10-20% change in voltage normally.

The computers power supply may be suspect. See also temp shutdown numbers in bios and if it recovers from fail.

Did it work on the older UPS? Did you uninstall the USP application for the old one and install the new one with the correct cable?
