this is my computer motherboard ok look above the 3 pci slots i see it says pciex16 its weird cuz theres no connector it would be great to have a pcie 16 instead of a pci because i currently have a geforce 6200 plugged in but i really want a better card like 8000+ or something.
so is it possible to get it to work or am i stuck with pci
I believe that some versions of this board had the PCI-Express connector and some didn't. It looks like the one used by HP has the solder pads for the connector, but the actual connector itself is not installed. I guess you could replace it with one of the ones that does have the connector. You can pick them up pretty cheap on eBay. Or just upgrade to a new m/b.
