I plugged my Seagate 1Tb hard drive into my TV to watch a movie yesterday. I plugged it back into my MacBook Pro and all the files have a .lnk on them and will not open in my Mac. It says that it does not have the Application to open it. When I try to open it, it goes to disc Utilities. I have over 600 gigs of files on it and do NOT want to lose anything at all. How can I fix it so that it works on both Mac and PC? Mac OS X Snow Leopard
As always, you want a back up copy of data. That means another hard drive. Nothing wrong with having one PC formatted and the other Mac formatted. Mac can access both file systems with the appropriate driver.
