SD Card Slot Not Working 51-In-1 Reader/Writer

  • 1

i’m having trouble with my Digital Concepts 51-in-1 SD Card Reader/Writer. I insert the SD Card from my phone, nothing happens. I went into my computer and there was no icon there for my SD card! (my desktop computer has all the corresponding drive letters in My Computer (ie: E,F,G,H) for all the slots in that card reader, and I can use it without any problems.) when I plug the same SD card into my laptop, the LED on the card reader flashes once or twice, then nothing. please help! Other slots work, like the CF card reader

Edit:

It was the SIM card reader, NOT the SD card reader that wasn’t working right. The device has 6 different slots.

I have the card reader connected by USB to my lap top. I bought the device to get pictures off my camera as well as my cell phone. The CF card that comes from my camera works splendidly. I was also able to use the SD card reader as well to download the photos from an old phone. Now, as stated earlier, I said it was the SD reader in the device that wasn’t working….in actuality, it was the SIM card reader that I couldn’t get to respond.

When I inserted the SIM card from my phone, into the Card Reader device, the LED light on the reader blinked a couple times, but didn’t respond. When I tried my wife’s SIM card from her phone, I got the same result, so I’m pretty sure it’s not my SIM card.

I have never been able to use the SIM card reader slot for this device. I do know I’m using the right slot, as it is labelled SIM. As to whether it is compatible otherwise, I don’t know how to determine that.

I am able to pull up the pictures in my cell phone, but that’s irrelevant as it doesn’t even seem to identify when I put the SIM card into the reader. Crappy POS from China, I guess.

The brand name is Digital Concepts. It has “6 SLOTS HI SPEED 51-IN-1 CARD READER/WRITER” written on the front of it. Model Number was CR-75P..

I hope I’ve given further explanation for help. Thanks again.

  1. I never heard of being able to read a sim card in a reader. I have a Motorola phone and use Motorola phone tools software to download pictures. There may be software for your phone too. Check it out.

  2. Must be the reader then. I’m not familiar with sim cards used in that context but maybe you can take it back to radio shack and get another model–maybe not an ‘all in one’ type. Here’s one google found:

  3. Sakar and Digital Concepts, I believe, are the same animals.

You may need the software from Sakar they call “Sim Card Editor Software”

Worth a try before you give up on that thing. Seems like many have had problems getting it to work or even setting it up.
