Screen not turning on but power light is on

Specs: Windows 7, 1.4 GHz / 1 GB
I have a LG Flatron W2242T and when I press the power button to turn it on, the power LED goes blue to indicate that it is on, but the screen stays black. It is almost like the "screen" component is disconnected from the chipset.

I hate BSOD's

Either the monitor is bad or it's not getting a video signal from the tower.

Hi,

Pull out the power cable and leave it out for a while and then put it in again. If the issue still persists, your unit's power supply has failed.

Thanks & Regards

Plug the monitor into a different computer, or plug a different monitor into the computer in question.

"Other monitors work and the blue light turn on, indicating it gets power and is on"

If other monitor types work then it is obvious that the monitor that is not working is faulty.

I have a LG Flatron L225WT where the blue light flickers a bit otherwise the monitor works just fine.

A last thought would be that the other monitors may require less power than the Flatron meaning that your powerboard may be at its total power peak and the LG Flatron requires more power than is available.

A final thought would be to use a monitor that does work and set the resolution to 1024 x 768 then try the Flatron as you may have the resolution set too high for the Flatron to accept.
