Specs: Windows 7 Starter N, Intel Atom 1.6GHz/ 1 GB
So when i power on the dell, i see the dell logo the bar on the bottom loads, but then the screen goes blank. the only other things i can do are boot from a different device other than hdd or go to bios setup. this problem gets fixed temporarily when i install a new windows, but comes back after a few reboots or shut downs. to me it looks like the problem is in the hdd, but i can't test it and i'm not sure. any help regarding this?

edit: i also tried to do a fresh install of windows, but when i boot from the setup disk; the files load and stuff, but when windows starts to load, the screen goes blank.

Go to Hard Drive manufacturers Support Site and download the Diagnostic Tools Software, it usually creates a Live Bootable CD....

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....

well it's working for now. It didn't wanna let me install windows 7, so i installed xp, then i installed 7 from over that. took a whiel to do, but 7's been working fine since then. i've rebooted the laptop only 3 times till now though. thanks for the suggestion, but i think it's good now. i'll post if the problem occurs again.
