Specs: Windows XP
Does anybody know what the CMOs battery in a Samsung VM8000 is?

I'd like to have one to hand to replace it before I start dismantling the laptop. I'm getting a "CMOS battery low" message on start up.

You can probably get a replacement bios at one of the following web sites, but is it very wise to do that before it's needed?

http://www.badflash.com/
http://flashbios.org/
http://www.biosman.com/

Or do a Google search for 'Bios replacement'.

Some cmos batteries on laptops use rechargable cells and are charged whenever the laptop is plugged into the AC adapter. If the laptop has been sitting un-used for a while such a battery discharges.
If the laptop has been sitting un-used for a while, try just leaving it plugged into the AC adapter for a while, and the message may go away.
