|2 years ago I built my computer, and with it I picked up a Samsung SyncMaster 225BW widescreen monitor. After a couple weeks of having the computer the monitor would black out whenever I moved my mouse. It would only happen sometimes so I didn't do anything about it. After a while it got worse and it would happen whenever I clicked my mouse. I tried switching the mouse and double checked all my cables were fine (not split or detatched or anything), and checked to make sure my video card was secure inside. Nothing helped. It got to the point where it would blackout for hours, and the only way to get my screen back would be to restart.|
I called the guy who sold me the monitor and he took it back and sent it to Samsung and they said it was a problem with something burning out inside (honestly can't remember what). Got it back and it was working okay for a few days, then it started up again. Then after about a week it stopped.
Fast forward about a year and half and today I've started noticing the same problem cropping up. This time it's doing it when I have a video running in VLC. The picture will just black out for a second then it'll be fine. Also happens when I use the scroll on my mouse.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced this problem or knows what it could be. I'd prefer to not have to buy a new monitor as I quite like this one, so if it's something simple like replacing something that's burned out inside the monitor that would be ideal.
Thanks for the help!!
