I am using a Samsung 19" LED monitor for my desktop PC. The screen goes off every once in a while. Once goes off I can get it back if i switch the monitor power off and then on. Or I can reconnect the VGA cables. I have changed VGA cables to see if that is the cause. That didn't help either. This Monitor is only few months old. Sometimes it does work without any issues. I don't see any timers or any other set up to switch itself off after a certain period has been activated. What can be the reason for this?

Check the monitor's setup menu (on-screen display or OSD).
It may have a built-in "sleep" feature that you should be able to disable.

(I'm not referring to Windows settings here, I'm referring to the monitor's hardware settings in it's menu/setup options).

If that's not it, the monitor be faulty.
