Specs: Windows 10, 8gig
On my laptop I have a 500 gig drive divided into two partitions 230 gig and 235 gig (maths is not spot on). Partition one contains Win 10, partition two is empty and I would like to install Lubuntu on it.

How do I go about this and also create a menu to select which drive boots?

Regards.

✔ Best Answer
When you go to install it, it will walk you right thru the process. Just pay attention to what's displayed on the screen & act accordingly. It will ask if you want to replace Windows or install Linux along side it. For example: https://images.techhive.com/images/...
The dual boot menu will be setup automatically during the installation.

Of all the Linux possibilities, why Lubuntu?

And before you proceed, make sure you backup all important data just in case the procedure goes south.

Thanks for the replies riider and THX 1138, does "alongside it" mean on the same partition or the empty one? ... its Lubuntu because that's the one I happen to be using on a USB, I will in all probability install Linux Mint.
