Specs: Windows 7, 4 gigs
I am still receiving suggestions but need the help of my freind as I am Epileptic and he is more computer literate than me and understands more about the internal workings of P.C's than me as i've had to stay away from them because of my health issue and have not been able to keep my brain up to date with all that goes on with P.C's , Laptops n they're internal workings but i'm trying to get back where i used to be and what i did know before i was diagnosed Epileptic in Oct 1987. I will, of course try the suggestions i have received and will give you the results of the best answer, thanks Yrs StueeBee.

Thanks for the update. There is no rush to give a Best Answer so just take your time.

Just for information the best place for this post in future would be on the thread in question - presumably this one:

They "stay alive" for months.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi Derek n thanks for yr message. I'm still trying a few options that have been suggested to me but end up with the same problem? I've been in touch with HP Tech Support n was given an email address to check out and have had a breif look but need to show my freind where i'm at cs he will understand better than me as i don't want to dive in to the first option i've been given as some suggested were BIOS Settings n i ain't messing around in there cs i may ruin my laptop n will have a deeper look over the weekend. I'm hearing all sorts of suggestions from different people with different amounts of PC knowledge and i know that if i i do what one of them say's i should do it WILL Spell Disaster cs seen it all before n too many cooks spoil the broth n i want to try n sort my sound issue out myself with my freinds help of course. I'll take my time n do things the right way by my reckoning n just see how i go cs i know there are people such as yrself that could help me but if HP can't with there tech support n still think my internal speaker, sound problem is to do with an update they sent me to install n i did so thinking all would be ok but obviously not but i'm gonna keep looking cs i won't let this beat me cs i'm patient n will not let this get the better of me. Yrs n patient StueeBee.
