Replacement PSU problem

Specs: Windows XP
The old PSU on my computer has a 80mm fan that faces the back of the computer with openings on the other side of the PSU.

Does the new PSU need to be the same? Or can I use one where it has a 120mm fan that's on the bottom and the openings are on the side so it's facing the back of the computer?

I want to replace this PSU -

with this one -

Can I do that? Is that ok since the fans are in different places on the PSU?

Your old PSU is a piece of crap. Corsair is an excellent choice but why do you feel you need a 650W unit?

If that's the one you want, newegg has it cheaper after rebate:

Or you can get this Thermaltake for under $50 when using the 10% off code:

I don't think the 450w is powerful enough. The computer is a Core 2 Duo with 2 GB RAM, 2 hard drives, 2 optical drives, and a NVidia graphics card. Is 650w too much?
