Replaced defunct PCU.

Hewlett-packard Pavilion m7480n desktop

Specs: Windows XP Media, 2
Get 60 Hz hum over the speakers, even with power switch off. Get message on boot: "No Hard Drive Detected." Will not boot XP repair disk. Machine is HP Pavilion m7480n.

What's next? Do I need drivers? Are their conneorrect?ctions that might be inc

Did you do anything that may have caused this problem? Change any hardware or mess with any BIOS settings?

As far as the hum goes, if you unplug the speakers from the computer do they still hum? If so you have a bad filter capacitor in your speakers power supply. If they stop humming when unplugged from the computer, you have a ground loop problem. You will need to use a ground lift adapter on your speakers power supply.
