A few weeks ago I started seeing an error message on my DAW PC which warns that 'hard disc failure is eminent'.
I called tech support to inquire what kind of time frame is the eminent failure? They said 'hard to say... could be 2 days, 2 months or 2 years'.
I have since backed up all of my data and purchased a replacement hard drive.
Never having done this before, I watched some tutorial videos on hard drive removal/replacement (for my particular PC) and the process seems straight forward and doable.
I'm ready to do this, but have a little apprehension about potentially losing my stuff, especially my software, and having to go through the major hassle of resubmitting authorization codes, etc to get my software back to normal (all of my software is legal and legitimate).
Just wondering from those here who have done this, how did it go?
Is there anything I need to be aware of before I do it?
