The first thing you should have done is remove the battery so the laptop circuitry isn't charged. Water on a charged PCB board will damage it. Water on a non-charged board is very unlikey to cause damage.
Then let it dry out or disassemble it and dry the components before using it again. Maybe doing that now will improve the situation but I doubt it.
If it's still under warranty maybe you can pretend you don't know what happened and get another one.
