Recover Dell laptop damaged from rain flood

September 17, 2010 at 09:43:49
Specs: Windows Vista, 128
Dell Inspiron 1705E laptop was sitting dryer downstairs during tornado sirens and basement window well filled up with water, latch let go & a gush of water dowsed the laptop. It was closed and in standby mode. Completly disassembled within the hour and used hair dryer to dry it out was not that wet inside.
Replaced power button circuit, no help. Thinking next step would be Mother Board??
Just replaced screen.... battery... and keypad a few weeks prior to the water incident.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, too much invested to toss away. Would like to know what "needs" to be connected for start up,, ie...leave out what components.. Thank You

Sounds like the cheapest solution is to try Ebay.

Just ordered a Mother Board for $190. Like I said earlier it has a new power button w/ circuitry so I am gambling on the mother board as the problem. Will keep you updated........ Thanks
