Hi everyone.. Just want to clear up on this usb thumbdrive thing. Is it safe to reboot your machine while the drive still attached?.. Some of my friends say yes and some, no. So which one is true?.. Thanks in advance..

Well most of the time mother board recognize the thumb drive as boot device which disturbs that start up of the computer so it'll be probably best to remove it properly before turning off or restarting the computer.

Is is safe as in damage to any part then it is safe is that respect.

It might slightly reduce the life of the drive but how cheap are they now? Like by a day or week.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, Make an autorun.inf folder on all usb drives.

Well it better to keep it alive and learn to maintain something even though it's cheap.
