Rant about bad RAM from Infineon corporation

Infineon / Pm402132.3c

Specs: Windows XP, PC133 512 sdram
Found Infineon corporation's phone number online. Unfortunately, their response to my request to have the bad memory replaced, was that the original seller was responsible. But they don't care about their reputation, because memory chips hardly ever go bad. Who is going to keep a sales receipt for over a year? Besides that is the common warranty lapse on electronic items. Nevertheless, I have been using and servicing PC's for over 20 years, and never came across bad memory chips. For the Infineon Corporation to refuse to issue a replacement or a coupon to have the item replace shows that they only care about their pockets.

You have never come across bad RAM in 20 years?

What have you been servicing, Washing machines?

You should always keep receipts for PC components, sometimes they can go bad in a few days, or keep on chuggin for years to come.

Normally you cant get a replacement without a receipt. Advice for the future (Y)

If its not broken, Fix it until it is

Memory rarely "goes bad". It's either bad from day one or it works fine for as long as the user owns it, unless the user does something stupid or configures it incorrectly.

Infineon is one of the top semiconductor manufacturers in the world but as far as I know, they do NOT manufacture memory modules...they manufacture the memory chips that are used on the modules, then sell the chips to memory module manufacturers such as Kingston.

Whether or not YOU damaged the memory modules or have the BIOS settings configured incorrectly, I can't say. But I do know that you complained to the wrong company.
