randomly freezing advice

Specs: Windows 7, quad q9550 2.83ghz
Hi about a month ago my cpu was overheating
so i brought a new cpu fan and thermal compound after fitting my idle went from 75/80 c to 23 c
thinking happy days squared my comp kept on randomly freezing so checked running temps on GPU was about 60 c thinking load @ 80c thinking was a little bit too hot upped my fan speed and now reciving 40c idle 60c load.
now im stumped not to sure what to do temps seem fine heard of testing memory but not to sure how... plzzzz help

cpu..... intel core quad cpu q9550 2.83ghz
RAM..... 4gb
GPU..... Nvidia geforce gtx 260

Tests not guesses. Start with memtest for a few days. Look at event logs, perfomance monitor and dump logs. Run drive diags and video diags.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
