I have a question about the ram frequency on my wife's machine. It's a Dell Dimension 4600. I've installed 2 gigs of ddr400 pc3200 and according to cpuid it's running at 166.3 dram frequency. The processor is a P4 2.66 running at 133 bus speed. Shouldn't the frequency be 1:1? The multiplier in the cpu is x20. It doesn't seem to be running as good as it should with that amount of ram. Thanx for any input.
Hi dell dimension 4600 support ddr 400, may be one of the stick u installed isn't ddr 400 (it's ddr 333) or someone underclock memory frequency in bios (better check it). For now u are stuck with ratio 1:1 (which isn't very bad).
