ram problem

Specs: Windows XP, 2.809 GHz / 2013 MB
hi i have asus p7h55-m motherboard i have 4 gb ram i have also pci express card but my system show me only 3.5 gb ram i also install win xp sp 2 and also win 7 but bot are 32 bit i check my bios setting but i can't find any setting please help me out

This is normal for a 32 bit Operating System. The maximum addressable RAM is 4 Gbs but some of that address space has to be given over to memory mapped i/o devices so it is not available to be used by RAM.

With 3.5 Gbs you are doing well, often it is a lot less.

0.5 GB RAM is being reserved by BIOS.
There's nothing you can do about it.
