Solved Raid changed to ide to install windows, now hanging no boot

Specs: Linux x86_64
when bios is set to Raid system says No hard disk found
When changed to IDE windows installed
But sometimes there is click sound from hard disk and system hang or not booting

when i again go bios and saves IDE by pressing F10 then system boots

what may be problem

Most likely the hard drive is failing. Being set on IDE, it should work fine, just not as fast as it might if you would have installed it under RAID.

You need to install the RAID driver before changing the BIOS setting. Did you do that? And clicking is usually a sign the the HDD is on the way out. Try running the manufacturer's diagnostic software.

I think the RAID setting is irrelevant. He stated that it installed and does boot, but it regularly hangs or fails to boot.

The OP didn't clearly state which OS he's running. He has Linux x86_64 listed for his specs but mentions Windows in his post. If he has WinXP, what's happening makes perfect sense if he has a SATA HDD.

The RAID/SATA drivers are required for XP to recognize a SATA HDD, without them "no hard disk detected" is the outcome.
