Specs: Windows Vista Home Premium, 2 gb
Hp f2280 all-in-one printer/scanner/copier

i've had this HP AIO unit for about 15 months.
suddenly...all the text was slanting off the page. could not figure it out. sprayed some furniture polish on the long metal bar and cleaned with a cloth and it's printing fine now. does anyone know if these inkjet printer metal bars need to be lubricated? or should is some some mechanism built into the inkjets to automatically lubricate the cartridges rolling on the bar?

Not lubricated but kept immaculately clean. Your lubricant will attract dust and soon turn to something resembling mid east light crude.

Try this; clean the bar with alcohol and keep cleaning it until all that stuff is gone. Then, clean as necessary every week or two.

This was a common fix I used on the old hp 500 series printers 15 years ago.
