The list tells you which minimum bios version you need to support the cpu.
If you want to install a cpu that your present bios version doesn't support, you may have to flash bios when a cpu the present bios version does recognize properly is installed, otherwise the mboard may not boot when you install the upgrade cpu .
Newer bios updates almost always have all the fixes and cpu support previous bios versions do - use the latest non-beta bios version. You should always load bios defaults in the bios Setup after you have flashed the bios.
