problems with old motherboard and new process

Specs: Windows 7, CPU/MOTHERBOARD
Hello, i got dx975xbx2 intel motherboard also know as intel bad axe 2 its an old one but still its mine :) and i saw this new processor come out E6600 at ~3.xx ghz with 2 mb memory. i searched on intel web site and in one reference found that it is not compatible on other reference found that they are compatible so now i don`t know what to do :) can you please help? if you can please reply at my email :) ty

You need to use the correct board model number...D975XBX2...& you should be getting the CPU support info directly from Intel.

BTW, the E6600 has 4MB "memory" (I think you mean L2 cache), not 2MB. Double check the CPU model number too.

Jam, there is a new E6600 it came out in january this year thats why i`m asking about the new one, i know the old ones will do i have done my research :) but thx for reply tho

Well, you got the board model number wrong & referred to the L2 cache as "memory" so I had no idea of how much you know or don't know.

There are two completely different E6600 CPUs. One is the Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4GHz/1066MHz FSB/4MB L2), the other is a Pentium Dual Core E6600 (3.06GHz/1066MHz/2MB L2).

yes i know that the first one E6600 is compatible with my motherboard.. and i know what cache is and etc:) i`m just not writing it :) i am wondering about the second E6600 because if you find the second one the new one in intel home page and then search for motherboards it says they are compatible so thats why i`m confused
