Ok i have two Compaq Presario 5000 series, and i was switching out the motherboards because my main compaq didnt have an video card/graphics card slot. So i tried switching them out and have everything plugged in the right spot, but when i start the computer it brings me to the Sorry for your troubles ect and ask to start in safe mode/safe mode with networking/safe mode with command prompt/ start windows to last good knowing time or start normally. I tried all of them none worked i get a blue screen but it doesnt stay up long enough to even read part of it. And it goes right back to that prompt screen? any ideas how to get this problem off my hands lol?

As they are different motherboards (even though they are from
the same series of PCs), you can't just swap them over and
expect Windows to work - the usual thing to do is to get a
Windows XP disk and carry out a repair installation, though you
may still have problems activating as a change of motherboard is
considered to be a new machine.
