Problem with installing PCI-e card

Ati radeon / Hd 5550

Specs: Windows Vista
Just bought an ATI Radeon HD 5550 (and a 500 kW power supply to go with it). Installed both; now my computer fails to start up with the card in. I did install the driver from the enclosed CD. Vista's "Startup Failure Repair" was ineffective.

Any idea what I can do? Also, I didn't see any power connection on the card itself; is that part of the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Did it have a pci card before?

Are sure it won't start? Might it be that you simply can't see any display.

Do you see fans turn or any lights blink or anything.

If it had an old card in did you remove it from software before you turned off your computer?

500 kw? I think he's trying to power a small town!

You should have removed the old video card drivers before you installed the new video card.

Oh, I missed that.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?
