February 19, 2011 at 14:55:58
Specs: Windows 7
I have a sata master hd with win 7 and ide slave hd with win 7. I unhooked my sata to format my slave and install win xp. I rehooked up my master and it says it does nor recognize any data on it and says it needs to be reformatted. I never deleted anything on it so I know all that info is still there but I just cant get to it. Any suggestions?

There is no master or slave with SATA drives. And if you have an IDE HDD, it should be jumpered as master. Change the boot order in the BIOS to boot off the SATA drive.

Is the SATA hard drive connected directly to a SATA port on the motherboard?

Where are you seeing that message?
