Printer software install

Specs: Windows XP
TRYING TO INSTALL AN HP PRINTER AND I GET A FATAL ERROR..MS1.-SOMETHING? THEN IT UNINSTALLS...TRIED TO DOWNLOAD FROM INTERNET SOFTWARE STILL DOESN'T WORK..B209A MODEL ANY IDEAS?? THANKS :)

In the folder it was installing to should be an install log. There may be a Windows update you are missing. Without the full error message, we can only guess.

Please, no ALL CAPS. To us it's shouting. Thanks!

Thanks..the error was msi.netdevicemanager40 she has tried wireless and with the cables but with no avail...same message pops up and then it uninstalls..they tried to call hp but they didn't know why either...thanks for you help :)

they were using the cd then tried the internet software still no luck..

MSI = Microsoft Installer package.
Did an Interent search (Bing) on the error provided. Wow. HP and Microsoft are not liking each other on this one. Nasty Bug in the software.
Try this - looks promising

Uninstall that HP stuff completely. Then reboot and make sure you log in as administrator or with admin privileges.
Disconnect physically from the internet. Shut down your antivirus, firewall and any other programs you may have running.
Only now should you install the drivers as per HP-instructions (I think drivers first, then connect the printer).
