|In the bios there is a setting to select the boot devices. Most people have it set and forget to boot from like CD, then Hard Drive. They don't notice some other setting that may be there and rather hidden on some. It is called pxe or network boot or boot to other device or almost any name. |
Saying all that means that if you bios settings are correct then your boot should try the cd (maybe if set first_ then the hard drive. It is saying that it can't find an OS to boot from on the hard drive or it is saying that it can't find a hard drive or simply the boot order has been changed.
Start but hard drive diags maybe. Get an ultimate boot cd and run some tests. Then if hard drive passes, you would then need to fix the OS.
