power supply problem ON HP M8000

Specs: Windows 7
My computer does not respond. Poewer supply light is on , but noting else is working when pluged on. Everything looks dead.

If there are no lights or fans, it's likely the power supply has failed. There are several different voltage rails, the main 3 are +3.3v, +5v, & +12v. If any one of them fails, the unit is shot. Amperage varies depending on load. If you look at the label on the side of the power supply, the amperages ratings for the rails will be listed, but what will be shown is the max. Here's an example:
