have emailed emachines twice and their answers are nonsense. i already knew my comp is 4 years old and not under warranty. i just want to buy some parts. i need the blue led light behind the power button and the clear plastic spring for the button itself. any ideas? i believe it's a nexgen2 case.

thanks for the idea, but i think ill pass on a new case. everything works fine, except for the light and button spring. the actual power button is located behind the outer panel, so if it come to that, i could just take it offf and press the button directly. is buying parts for other computer brands this hard or is it just emachines? im wondering if i should buy a replacent part for the new comp in advance? its 3 months old. et1331g-03w.

If you live in a fairly large town, try to find a junked emachine with the same case. Check at garage sales and thrift stores. Might be able to find one on ebay too.

You're not really green until you're soylent green.

"have emailed emachines twice and their answers are nonsense"

And I'm sure they think your requests are just as nonsensical.

"is buying parts for other computer brands this hard or is it just emachines?'

It's a spring & an LED. These are NOT parts that a PC manufacturer would generally have on hand for resale, especially for a 4-yr old tower that's no longer under warranty. If you needed a new board, CPU, RAM, HDD, etc, I'm sure you'd have no problem getting one from them or another source.

As I see it, you have 3, maybe 4 choices:

1. live with it as-is
2. replace the case
3. go with DAVEINCAPS suggestion & try to find on old tower from somewhere that you can gut for the parts
4. improvise, adapt & overcome
