Port in use message

Specs: Windows 10
New Canon G1200 printer. When I try to print I get a "port in use, please wait" message. After a good long wait it prints. I've had several other printers on this computer at various times with no problem.

Dell XPS/Windows 10 64bit/all upgrades.

Run their trouble shooter.
Is any other printer still installed?

I was also going to say delete all printers not currently in use that appear and maybe some of those unnecessary things like Fax, One Note, etc. Then restart computer and printer and run troubleshooter for printer.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
