Solved Please help lenovo z500 statrs with charger but not with bat

Specs: windows 8, core i7 3612qm
Dear masters,
I have lenovo ideapad z500 core i7 3612qm , nvidia 740m 2gb, issue is : my laptop turns on with charger but not with battery , battery is good while watching movies it holds 3hours, without charger when i press start buttun it sounds as working but then turns off in 5 seconds nothing on screen appears, with charger normally starts i can use it without charger 3hours charger needing to start only where is issue help please

Well I don't know. You've got the thing sitting in front of you. I suppose you can go into bios setup and check for options relating to the battery.

I think this is the manual. You might check it to see if it says anything about the battery:

There might be more document downloads on the lenovo support page for that model.

That looks like a fairly new laptop. If it's still under warranty just take it into a shop and have them look at it.

Either the battery is not charging fully or it needs replacing (most likely the latter).

I think your symptoms are down to the heavy starting load.

So you need to start it with the charger attached but once you get it going you can remove the charger and it works OK?

You might try another battery if only to rule out that as the cause. Batteries can sometimes fail in unexpected ways.
