Phoenix Award Bios v6.00PG

August 16, 2011 at 10:28:55
Specs: Windows XP
I have 2 external hard drives as backup attached to the HP Machine for backup purposes.
The problem is that the clock battery went dead. I replaced the battery, however, now the bios polls all the backup external drives, taking a very long time to boot.
I have the Phoenix Award Bios, v6.00PG. In the bios setup, I can find no way to set the HDGroup to ignore these external drives. Apparently, there is a way to do it, as this problem did not start until the clock battery went dead and was replaced.
Any suggestions other than unplugging the external hard drives?

Thanks
Ron

Unplug the external drives, reboot the system, enter the BIOS, manually configure the settings, save & exit. Boot back into Windows, then reconnect the externals.
