I have a PC with an Intel E6700 processor with 2 GB of memory connected to an ECS PT890T-A motherboard running XP SP2. After installing their VIA device manager drivers (including IDE) from ECS, I noticed performance for the most part suffered a bit as reported by some benchmark systems. Does this make sense in that the specific motherboard drivers are not quite as good as the default (generic) MS Windows XP drivers?
