Solved Pci express 3.0 video card problems

Specs: Windows 8, 8 gb
installing pci Express 3.0 video card on pci-express 2.0 slot is possible. Can my motherboard support pci-e 3.0 video card. My motherboard is gigabyte p-67-ud3p-b3,thanks !!

You can install a pci expres 3.0 video card into a pci express 2.0 slot without any problem. Even if you have a mobo that supports pci express 3.0 you need also a cpu that supports it but the truth is you wont use all that bandwidth a video card alone would work without a noticeable performance hit. Pci express makes the most if you use more than one video card in SLI or crossfire with 2 or more video cards,only then it's better to have more bandwidth.

Yes, technically a PCIe 3.0 x16 is twice as fast as a PCIe 2.0 x16, but rarely is it that graphics cards will use this much bandwidth. I doubt you'll take a noticeable performance hit.
