Specs: Windows xp
My old computer was unplugged for 2 months and i was setting it up for the kids and now it won't power up. If its unplugged for that long will it power on after a certain amount of time or is it dead forever?

Units left unused for a long time can encounter a problem due to corrosion on connections. The flow of electrical current through the connections tends to inhibit corrosion.
If you get no signs of power, I would suggest pulling the AC plug, open up the case, remove and re-insert the motherboard power connector a few times. It might scrape off any corrosion, if that's the problem.

It worked OK before you stopped using it, right? Is it now completely dead, or when you try to power it up, do you see anything on the screen, see any drive lights flashing, hear any beeps, etc.? Where did you have it stored for those months you weren't using it? You could try opening the case, popping out the CMOS battery (round silver battery about the size of a nickel) and replacing it after a minute or so. I really don't think that's the issue, but it's worth a try. While you have the PC case open, look to see if there are any cables or wires that are disconnected (or are chewed through!).
