Hey guys I need some help regarding my pc booting. I was watching a video when all of the sudden my pc shut off and it won’t turn on. After buying a new psu because I thought that was my problem I think I figured out it’s not. When I take out my ATX 12v connector from my mobo everything in my computer turns on however there’s still no display. When I plug in the ATX 12v NOTHING turns on, not even the psu. I don’t know if my mobo or the atx 12v is shot? Help?

(Mobo: Gigabyte ga-ab350 gaming 3)
(Psu: Thermaltake smart series 700w 80+ certified)

Since you're getting no display I'm guessing it's not actually 'turning on'. It's just the new PSU is supplying power to the fans and drives so they're spinning up, but that's all. Try to reduce it to a 'bare bones' setup by removing anything not necessary to get a boot up screen--cards, drives, external devices, etc. Then if you still get no display it's probably the motherboard or cpu. Often a PSU failing will ruin the motherboard as well.

Hey thanks for the reply, I am getting a new motherboard tomorrow since I needed an upgrade regardless. If this problem continues I’ll let you know.
