Did you replace it properly? 1st thing was unplug the power cord, then you grounded yourself on the chassis so there was no static discharge, then you swapped batteries? If you zapped the board with static, you may have fried it.

Also:
Make sure the battery is in the correct direction, backwards will not work and may cause damage.
After replacing the battery, reset defaults in your BIOS, do not assume that just replacing the battery will do this.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
