Hi,
As I was out of station, I didnt turn my pc on for 6 to 7 months. When I turned on my system, it was not booting. I dismantled everything and assembled everything by removing the dust. I am sure I have not done any mistake here. Coz I hav experience assembling PCs. Now the problem is my Hard Disk. After I assembled my PC I turned my system on. I saw the post screen. I connected my Hard Disk, when I press power button, it'll switch on and automatically it switches off with 1 second. I checked the volts of power supply in the connector.. Its was 5V and 12V. I connected other hard disk of 10 GBs. It was ok. System got turn on. So Its confirmed that the problem is with my Hard Disk. Any Idea how I can repair my hard disk? Other than giving out for Data Recovery?

The only other possibility is a bad cable. Try a different one.

You're not really green until you're soylent green.

is it really important to have that hard disk if it isn't u can always ditch that one put in the one that works if its got the basic system files on it and install the broken one as a slave and the format it that way u can at least get some use out of it that is if its not broken if the new cable doesn't work and u don't want to do this you will probably have to settle for recovery I'll c if i can't find a decent recovery site and i will post it.
