PC to TV using DVI to HDMI no sound

January 3, 2011 at 12:26:44
Specs: Windows Vista
I used a DVI to HDMI, got the picture perfect but I am getting no sound from TV, have to use the PC Speakers.

I got the Y Sound Cable and when i connect that it doesn't work either.

I'm not sure if it is up to the drivers or not, maybe the PC is getting the TV as a monitor and cant transfer sound? I am using the PC monitor and TV at the same time.

I am using Dell Dimension (Vista Ultimate) with upgraded video card - Nvidia Geforce 8400GS and a Samsung LCD TV.

Any Ideas?

Not sure if dvi carries sound.

Why did it take me over a year to phone in a problem to ATT?

DVI = Digital Video Interface (no sound)

HDMI = High Definition Multimedia Interface (DVI w/sound)

Y sound? Don't know what that is? Yellow is video. Red & White are sound. You need to somehow connect the PC audio out to the TV audio in.
