On a forum posting in all caps is like shouting and is considered bad manners.

Getting past the caps issue to your problem. Dirty voltage may sometimes cause your symptoms but there are two more likely culprits.
One is overheating. Have you checked system temperatures? Ever cleaned out the dust from inside the case paying particular attention to fans & Heatsink?

Other possibility is hard drive corruption. You only have 256mb ram and for XP that is barely enough to run the operating system without actually trying to run any programs. This situation leads to excessive use of pagefile ( Writing/reading data to/from harddrive when there isn't enough ram) Early harddrive failures occur because of this.

So Step 1. clean out the case. Step 2. Get more ram. Step 3. Take off the capslock.

See your event logs for reasons.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
