PC Powers on but No Monitor Connection

September 4, 2011 at 13:47:54
Specs: win 98, 1gb
Ok, I have an old win 95 or 98, not sure which because I have not used it in years but i'm wanting to see if I can get it running again.
And the problem is that when I plug in the main power supply it turns on but, there is no video connection.
Yes the monitor works, that is what i'm viewing this on with another computer.
-----
Also, the RAM, I have no idea what it has on it.

If you are getting nothing at all on the monitor at any time (not even during boot time), then the video card is probably dead and needs replacing with a new one.

Either that or the card has become loose in the slot so it's edge-connector isn't connecting properly with the contacts inside the slot. Remove the card carefully and re-seat it. If that doesn't fix it, a new card is required.
